Pittsburgh CLO has revealed casting to finish out summer and head into the holiday season. The news includes who’s joining Beth Malone in Seussical, who’s returning as star of Who’s Holiday!, and a new Scrooge but PCLO favorite, Charles Shaughnessy, joining the annual A Musical Christmas Carol.

SEUSSICAL
Tony Award nominee Beth Malone (Fun Home) leads the way as the Cat in the Hat for the Flaherty-Ahrens family friendly musical, July 30 – August 4, 2024, at the Byham Theater.
Her other stage credits include revivals of Angels in America and The Unsinkable Molly Brown (Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award nominee, Out Critics Circle Honoree).
As Horton who hears a Who, Jacob Keith Watson is back with PCLO after previously playing Amos Hart in Chicago. His Broadway credits include this year’s Tony Award-winning musical revival, Merrily We Roll Along. Henry Thomas, an 11-year-old student at CLO Academy, plays JoJo, the Who heard by Horton.
Kate Loprest, as Mayzie, has appeared on Broadway and with national tours and PCLO, and her TV work includes ADA Heidi Russell on Law and Order: SVU.
Darius Harper, as Sour Kangaroo, has previously starred in Kinky Boots and Once On This Island for PCLO.
Sweet Gertrude, Horton’s smitten neighbor, will be played by recent Carnegie Mellon graduate and frequent PCLO performer Susana Cordon.
The ensemble will include 2024 Gene Kelly Award winner and Pittsburgh CAPA grad Kai Sachon, headed to the University of Michigan in the fall, and 2022 Kelly winner Kylie Edwards, a rising junior at CMU.

A MUSICAL CHRISTMAS CAROL & WHO’S HOLIDAY!
The Who heard in Who’s Holiday! is Cindy Lou, with Pittsburgh native Lara Hayhurst back to star in the one-woman, adults-only, R-rated Christmas comedy, November 22 – December 22, 2024, at the Greer Cabaret Theater. Charles Shaughnessy (The Nanny, Days of Our Lives), who has played Henry Higgins and Captain Hook for Pittsburgh CLO, takes on the miserly mantle of Ebenezer Scrooge in a 33-year holiday tradition. Previous stars of stage and screen to see Scrooge transform after three ghostly visits on Christmas Eve include Mark Jacoby, Patrick Page and Michael Cerveris. Directed once again by Scott Evans, A Musical Christmas Carol will run December 13 – 22, 2024, at the Byham Theater.
