This is the first installment of what will eventually be weekly “The Pittsburgh Stage” reports. Reporting on what you’ve missed in the previous week and what’s to come in the current week.

• Last Sunday, March 16, Gemini Children’s Theatre closed their production ofAladdin at their location in Point Breeze. Their next production will be Alice in Wonderland opening April 5.
• Prime Stage‘s production of The Importance of Being Earnest also closed on Sunday, March 16. Check out our review of the show here. Prime Stage’s next show will beThe Devil’s Arithmetic opening on May 10.
• Boeing, Boeing at the McKeesport Little Theater also came to a close on Sunday, March 23. Their next production, Amish Burlesque, opens May 2.

Continuing to run this month are…

• Tribes at City Theatre on their mainstage, continuing through March 30. Check out our review of the show here.
• An Illiad at the Pittsburgh Public Theatre at the O’Reilly Theater, continuing Tuesdays through Sundays until April 6.
• Judge Jackie Justice at the Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret continues its run through April 27. Check out our review of the show here.

Opening this week are…

• Les Mierables at Pittsburgh Musicals on Thursday, March 27 playing at the Byham Theater running through April 6.
• Grounded at City Theatre starts previews at their Hamburg Studio Theater on Saturday, March 29. It officially opens on Friday, April 4 running through Sunday May 4.
• The Glass Menagerie opens for CMU at a 201 N Braddock Ave location on Wednesday, March 26 and runs through Saturday, March 29.
• In the Heights at the Univeristy of Pittsburgh‘s Charity Randall Theatre on Thursday, March 27 and runs through April 6.
