Get out your gram’s poodle skirt and slip on the Ray-Bans for some summer lovin’ at the 10 Minute Play Fest. This DIY theater cabaret that rolls out thrice a year and it happens again on Sunday, June 26.
New plays from varied writers–as anyone can write and submit a 10-minute play–will be presented at 4 pm at City of Asylum, 330 Sampsonia Way on the Northshore.
You’ll be surprised by the stories, the writers, and the run times. These short plays take you on a dramatic ride then say “Next!” It’s a great way to experience some adventurous theater and get away for some “Beach Blanket Bingo”.
A 1950’s boardwalk theme populates the off-stage experience with “Sin and Gin” and “Sidecar” cocktails at the bar and hot dogs and popsicles at the concession stand. And a boardwalk photo booth will be available for selfies and other bobbysoxer hi-jinks.
Dressing up saves patrons $2 off the $5 admission. So comb back your D.A. and tease up your beehive! Ponytails permitted!
