Opening This Week
The Current War
Presented by Quantum Theatre at Westinghouse Park, Pittsburgh PA
Quantum Theatre announces the return to live performance with The Current War, by Michael Mitnick, a world premiere musical staged outdoors for socially distant audiences in Westinghouse Park June 4 – 27, 2021.
The Current War tells the story of the rivalry between Pittsburgh’s own George Westinghouse and Thomas Edison at the dawn of the 20th century. With a turn-of-the-last-century aesthetic, this world premiere musical makes the metaphorical boxing ring battle between Westinghouse and Edison literal and electrified.
The first professional theatre production in the region since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Current War will be staged for small socially distanced audiences outdoors.
