The third of four Pittsburgh Musical Theater’s outdoor concerts under its West End Canopy continues with its Artist Spotlight on Love Series: An Evening with Caroline Nicolian and Quinn Patrick Shannon on Saturday, August 14th.
Caroline Nicolian and Quinn Patrick Shanon, two of Pittsburgh’s home town favorite performing artists and couple, invite us to spend an evening under the Canopy filled with songs and storytelling featuring the shows, music, and memories that made them fall in love over the years.
Shannon has been a professional stage actor for the last 15 years and has performed in various theaters across the country. Pittsburgh theatergoers will recognize Shannon from his roles here, including Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls(Pittsburgh Public Theater), Frankie in Forever Plaid (Pittsburgh CLO), Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame(Pittsburgh Musical Theater), and his most favorite role, Husband to Caroline Nicolian.
Nicolian is a Pittsburgh native and, like Shannon, has been performing for over 15 years. Her favorite credits include: Francesa in The Bridges of Madison County (Carnivale Theatrics), Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music (Pittsburgh Musical Theatre), Mayor Babs/Ma Ferd in The Toxic Avenger (PCLO), Casey in First Date the Musical (PCLO), Jaques Brel is Alive and Well... (PICT), and Side by Side by Sondheim (PCLO). She received her B.F.A. in Musical Theater from Point Park University, where she met her wonderful husband/favorite scene partner.
The evening will feature songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, Kander and Ebb, Cole Porter, and Alan Menken.
Their set includes amongst others “Mooning” (Grease), “First impression” (First Date), “Out There” (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), “Cry” (Forever Plaid), “The Impossible Dream” (Man of La Mancha), “Sweet Liberty” (Jane Eyre), “It Couldn’t Please Me More” (Cabaret), “Spark of Creation” (Children of Eden), “Unworthy of Your Love” (Assassins)
The one performance is on Saturday, August 14th begins at 7:30 at PMT’s West End Canopy (327 S. Main St.) Temperature check, masks, and social distancing are among PMT’s protocols.
