Throughline Theatre Company, like many theatre organizations since early 2020, has been on a somewhat extended hiatus for a while, but has also taken that time to work toward future seasons that are exciting, engaging, and of the best possible quality. One major step has recently been taken toward ensuring those goals with the recent addition of Throughline’s new Artistic Director, J. Cody Spellman!

Spellman (He/Him) is a director and producer for theatre and film. A Dayton, Ohio native, Cody lived in Chicago for over a decade, directing and working on large-scale and storefront productions and special events before moving to Pittsburgh where he now calls home.  He is attracted to genre-blending stories that create a complex shared experience within a community. He has a passion for developing new works and revising classics that push boundaries on genre and the truth they tell.
