Lights On! in the Pittsburgh Cultural District is spreading fast, from the big theatrical houses to specialty spots like Arcade Comedy Theater.
And really, who among us can’t use more laughter in our lives?
Arcade offers an abundance of Halloween-inspired comedy this month and a first for the comedy theater: a Pittsburgh Drunken History Tour along Penn Avenue, Downtown.
Upcoming Arcade shows include:
Sundays at 7 p.m.: Arcade Improv Jam: Sunday nights at Arcade mean “fun, laid-back improv comedy jams,” with improvisers of all skill levels creating theater inspired by audience suggestions. (Tickets: Pay as You Wish; suggested $5; ages 16+.

Friday, Oct. 22, 9 p.m.: Friday Nite Improvs Halloween-prov
There is no set cast for this all-audience participation improv show, but for anyone who wants to give improv a try, there are likely to be a few skilled performers offering their support. Guests are encouraged to come in costume; the best costume wins a cash prize. (Tickets: $12, aged 16+)
Saturday, Oct. 23, 1, 2, and 3 p.m.: Pittsburgh’s Drunken History Walking Tours
Explore the Penn Avenue corridor in an interactive tour that runs approximately 45 minutes and is entirely outdoors for approximately six city blocks. (Tickets: $20; free for children under 5)

Saturday, October 23 at 8 p.m.: Knights of the Arcade — The live Dungeons & Dragons game is built on audience suggestions and played on stage by “comedians, improvisers, and tried-and-true geeks.” The epic D&D quests include special guests, video-projected dice and more, for a show voted “2021 Best Comedy Troupe” by readers of Pittsburgh City Paper. (Tickets: $15, ages 16+)
Saturday, October 24 at 1 p.m.: Arcade at the Oasis (Trust Oasis, 133 7th Street, Downtown) — Penny Arcade: Halloween Costumes and Comedy for all ages. Tickets: $10, plus a “pay as you wish” option
Friday, October 29 at 8 p.m.: Online Shows Later: A Halloween Variety Show — Improv team Select Start invites you into Arcade’s lair for some laughs and screams at a variety show featuring spooky sketch and ghoulish improv. Costumes are encouraged. (Tickets: $15; ages 16+)
Saturday, October 30 at 8 p.m.: The Multiverse: Sketch Comedy Show — A sketch comedy show by local comedians “featuring oddball characters and laugh out loud scenes.” (Tickets: $15; ages 16+)
Saturday, October 30 at 10 p.m.: The Latchkey Kids: Primetime Halloween Special –– The Latchkey Kids’ first performance inside Arcade Comedy Theater features improv, live music, and videos from “those wonderfully horrible ’90s. And ’80s. And maybe some, like, early 2000s. But nothing after 2002. We do have integrity.” (Tickets: $15; ages 16+)
Wednesday, December 1 at 6 and 8:30 p.m.: The Golden Gays NYC in “Thank Yule for Being a Friend” — The Golden Gays NYC return to Arcade for a new holiday-themed musical comedy, with Jason B. Schmidt (as The Dorothy), Andy Crosten (as The Blanche), Gerry Mastrolia (as The Rose) and musical director Mason Griffin. (Tickets: $30-50; ages 12+)
Friday, Dec. 23 at 8 p.m.: Comedian Joe Kwaczala —
Arcade and Drusky Entertainment bring headliner Joe Kwaczala back to Pittsburgh, with comedian Danny Palumbo also on the bill. (Tickets: $20; ages 16+)
