Thomas rose to fame as John-Boy on The Waltons TV series that ran for nine seasons and played Agent Frank Gaad in FX’s The Americans. The Tony-nominated stage actor starred as Scrooge for CLO in 2018, when the show was recorded and later aired by WQED in December of 2020. Here is a trailer from the broadcast:

Thomas, who last year was a guest on CLO’s CLOse Ups online interview show, had been cast as Atticus Finch in the touring company of To Kill a Mockingbird before the pandemic delayed the tour.

Additional casting is TBA. In recent years, Broadway actors Mark Jacoby (2019) and Patrick Page (2016 and ’17) also have joined CLO to fill the role of the haunted miser, who finds a path to redemption on Christmas Eve.

A Musical Christmas Carol returns to the Byham Theater Dec. 17-23. More at www.pittsburghclo.org.
