Chamber Music Pittsburgh presents award-winning Cuban-jazz fusion band Hugo Cruz and Caminos. Part of CMP’s Pittsburgh Performs series, which showcases the city’s talented and diverse local musicians through performances in non-traditional venues, this pay-what-you-wish outdoor concert takes place at the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh’s Northside on Wednesday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m. The museum will be open until 8:00 p.m., allowing audience members to flow freely from the concert to the galleries.

Hugo Cruz and Caminos is led by celebrated Cuban composer and percussionist Hugo Cruz Machado, with band members Eli Naragon (bass), Roger Romero (saxophone), and Michael Bernabe (keyboard). The band combines Cuban, Afro-Cuban, African, and American jazz sounds to form a unique style characterized by their use of rhythm and melody. They have performed at the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival, First Night Pittsburgh, Backstage Bar, and other venues around the city.

“We’re so excited to bring Hugo Cruz and Caminos’ eclectic mix of jazz and Cuban music to the iconic courtyard installation at the Mattress Factory.” said Kristen Linfante, Executive Director.

Tickets for Hugo Cruz and Caminos are Pay What You Like and BYOB. They can be purchased online. . Run time is estimated between 60-90 minutes. The intimate concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Attendees must provide proof of vaccination at the door, but no masks are required.
