This time of year, numerous audition notices appear on theater company websites and social media pages announcing auditions for winter and spring productions. Whether you are a veteran Equity professional or new to community theater here, looking for audition calls on individual websites can be a time-consuming task.
To make your search a bit easier, here are some existing sites and social pages, along with a new service, that aggregate audition and casting calls from multiple theater, motion picture, and television companies.
Where to look for theater audition notices:
Auditions n’at – The largest oldest audition site in Pittsburgh with over 10,000 members https://www.facebook.com/groups/123191901086519/media
Greater Pittsburgh Theater Info Board – With nearly 2,500 members, this page requires you to register and sign up https://www.facebook.com/groups/476072345753519
Pittsburgh Theatre Bridge – Cody Spellman created this new service which provides theater companies a place to post paid-for ads for auditions and other theater related opportunities. https://www.pittsburghtheatrebridge.com/info
Stage Agent – This multifunction national site has helpful theater and show info, including auditions, crew, and creative jobs in a larger area than just Pittsburgh proper. One nice feature is it indicates upfront if the opportunities are paid or unpaid. You need to sign up for the pro version, which is free, to see the details. https://stageagent.com/theatre
Pittsburgh Technical Theater Forum – Occasionally posts backstage jobs. https://www.facebook.com/groups/pitt.tech.theatre
In addition to Pittsburgh being a great theater town, there is a very active film and television production industry here. Check out these sites for casting calls and other opportunities in film and television production.
