Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra Winter Concert to Feature an Afternoon of Lively Spanish and Cuban-Inspired Dances and More

PYSO’s family-friendly concerts are an ideal opportunity to introduce younger audience members to classical music, Heinz Hall, and a first-class symphony orchestra- for free this Saturday afternoon, February 11th, 2023, at 2 pm.

The program includes Ravel’s popular Rapsodie Espagnole, Rimsky-Korsakov’s dazzling and virtuosic Capriccio Espagnol, and Márquez’s Cuban-inspired Danzón No. 2.

The concert also features PYSO’s 2023 Concerto Competition winner, violinist Jeongwoo Cheon, who will perform the Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Saint-Saëns

And PYSO’s 2023 Conducting Competition winner, Tadao Tomokiyo, will conduct PYSO in selections from Bizet’s beloved Carmen Suites.
