Quantum Theatre Announces Their 2023-2024 Season

Quantum Theatre presents an ambitious three show season of cutting-edge theatre in their mission to create a laboratory for artistic experimentation in Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods.

Season subscriptions are available now for these shows:

Hamlet | August 4-27, 2023

Quantum returns to Carrie Furnace for another muscular Shakespeare — a contemporary world thrumming with ghosts and political paranoia. A Who’s Who of Pittsburgh theater leads the cast (including Treasure Treasure as the Prince of Denmark)—and the design team reunites Quantum’s most extraordinary talents.

The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk: The Chagall Musical | October 28-November 26, 2023

A remarkable Klezmer musical based on the love story of artist Marc Chagall and his poet wife, Bella, whose floating images are the stuff of dreams. Paired with Violins of Hope, Pittsburgh’s exhibition of instruments rescued from the Holocaust, Quantum’s 100th show depicts triumphant survivors of the 20th century’s darkest times. Staged at Rodef Shalom Congregation.

Scenes From an Execution  | April 5-27, 2024

16th-century Venice is the setting for a fearless exploration of sexual politics and the tension between personal ambition and moral responsibility. The Doge commissions the rebel painter Galactia to paint a vast canvas celebrating a triumphant battle. The results defy expectations, as does this play.
