Pittsburgh Musical Theater gets off to a “groovy” start and pulls in with a “million dollar” finish in the just-announced 2023-24 season.
The return of Evil Dead the Musical kicks things off outdoors, under the West End Canopy, in September, before we “can hear the people sing” in the annual Young Artist Production of Les Miserable, at the Byham Theater. Young Artist shows featuring PMT Conservatory performers also include the annual A Lyrical Christmas Carol and High School Musical Jr. Professional productions coming up in 2024 are Grease and Million Dollar Quartet.

Evil Dead the Musical | West End Canopy | September 23-October 22, 2023 Blood flies in this R-rated comedy-horror musical that takes elements from cult classic films The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness and combines them into one zany show.
Les Miserables School Edition | Byham Theater, Downtown | November 2-5, 2023. Les Miz is among the world’s longest running musicals, with a thrilling, award-winning score and a drama set against the Paris Uprising of 1832. Presented by the students of PMT Conservatory, in collaboration with the CAPA Orchestra.
A Lyrical Christmas Carol | Gargaro Theater, West End | December 13-17, 2023. A PMT holiday tradition since 1990, presented with performers from PMT Conservatory.
High School Musical Jr. | Gargaro Theater, West End | February 15-18, 2024. A Young Artist Production of Disney Channel’s hit musical phenomenon featuring the students of East High.
Grease | Byham Theater, Downtown | March 7-17, 2024. Rydell High’s Class of 1959 has you rooting for a greaser and a bobby-soxer and their pals, with songs including “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin’,” and “We Go Together.”
Million Dollar Quartet | Gargaro Theater, West End | April 18-May 12, 2024. A rock ‘n’ roll dream team: Set on December 4, 1956, Million Dollar Quartet recalls when fate brought together hit-makers Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley for one of the greatest jam sessions ever.
