These Shining Lives, by playwright Melanie Marnich, is based on the true story of Catherine Donohue, who begins working at the Radium Dial Company watch factory with the excitement of a newly liberated woman entering the workforce in 1922. She quickly befriends the colorful and close-knit group of women she works with. But when their health starts to deteriorate quickly, questions arise, and truths about the dangerous substance they work with are revealed. These Shining Lives is a beautiful story of resilience, strength, sacrifice, and the courage to do what’s right to protect future generations.
