Previously workshopped by the Duquesne Red Masquers in March, the premiere runs July 27 – 30 & August 3 -6 at the Genesius Theater on Duquesne’s campus.

Set in present-day Pittsburgh and London, Serenade is a classic story of a girl, Tess (known as “I Love Lucy with a Ph.D.”), who meets a cat; she saves the cat and falls in love with the cat’s owner, Englishman Terrence Wakefield. However, fate steps in and separates the would-be couple. As a world stands between them, Tess fights against fate, with a bit of help from some zany nuns and an (in)famous cornhole tournament, to try to find her soulmate on Christmas Eve.
The Summer Company’s cast features Heather Ruppert as Tess Townely, Kevin Erdner as her best friend, Owen York, and Tim Syciarz as the cat’s owner, Terrance Wakefield. Serenade was written by Timothy Ruppert and is Directed by Ashley Brown.
