Squonk Performs New Outdoor Spectacle, ‘Brouhaha’, on September 26 at Westinghouse Arts Academy as Part of RAD Days

Squonk has advised us aw of September 22nd that they will not be participating in this event on the 26th.

Squonk will perform Brouhaha, a new immersive outdoor spectacle bursting with rollicking music, dazzling imagery, and the thrill of audience participation. At the center of this riotous romp is the Squonkcordion, an enormous musical instrument powered by behemoth bellows topped with towering tuba bells. At the peak of the performance, Squonk invites the audience to play this foghorn organ, welcoming them to experience the joy of a brass band and the fireworks of community. The performance will take place at the school where Squonk wrote the show’s music.

Led by Co-Artistic Directors Jackie Dempsey and Steve O’Hearn, Squonk is a group of Pittsburgh-based musicians and artists. Squonk’s productions have taken the group to Off-Broadway, Broadway, Europe, Asia, and the United States. Both Lincoln Center and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presented Squonk’s last show.
