Pittsburgh CLO Names ‘Perfect Mate’ Cast

The world premiere of Pittsburgh CLO’s The Perfect Mate has its cast.

The futuristic rom-com musical, with book, music and lyrics by Dan Lipton and David Rossmer, was commissioned as part of PCLO’s SPARK Festival in 2018. Promising to “bring love to life” in time for Valentine’s Day and beyond, The Perfect Mate runs February 2-March 17, 2024 at the Greer Cabaret Theater.

Jimmy Nicholas is making his return to Pittsburgh and to the stage after two seasons on NBC’s Chicago Fire as Chief Evan Hawkins. The Carnegie Mellon alum plays Perfect Mate –  “an emotionally savvy humanoid partner” designed to be the man of one woman’s dreams, circa 2063. It turns out perfection isn’t all it’s cracked up to be for Joan, played by Autumn Hurlbert (runner-up on the reality competition series Legally Blonde: The Musical – The Search for Elle Woods, a performer in Legally Blonde on Broadway).

The cast also includes Josey Miller (Susan), Marissa Buchheit (Moya), Ryan Cavanaugh (Man), Laura Frye (Swing) and Connor Bahr (Swing).

The Perfect Mate is directed by Carolyn Cantor and choreographed by Whitney G-Bowley, with Greg Anthony Rassen as music director.
