Grease is the word for Pittsburgh Musical Theater March 7-17 at the Byham Theater, with Maya Santiago and Davis Wayne as the couple of destiny at Rydell High.
Maya Santiago (the national tour of On Your Feet!) and Davis Wayne (a Broadway performer in Hadestown) star as love-bound Sandy and Danny, along with local musical theater standouts Chris Laitta as Miss Lynch, Zanny Laird as Rizzo, Brecken Newton Farrell as Kenickie and David Toole as Teen Angel/Vince Fontaine.
Santiago was in PMT’s Jesus Christ Superstar in 2022, and Wayne is a former PMT student who has appeared over the years with the company.
The PMT production is produced by Colleen Doyno, with Danny Herman and Rocker Verastique as directors/choreographers, Dr. Francesca Tortorello as music director and Lucas Fedele as associate choreographer.
Grease is wildly popular musical rom-com about high school relationships, with music rooted in 1950s and early ’60s rock. Songs include Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’, We Go Together and You’re the One That I Want.
