The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council has awarded 30 Southwestern Pennsylvania arts organizations a total of $150,000, as part of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts’ Creative Sector Flex Fund program.
The grant program provides $5,000 grants to arts organizations in Allegheny, Beaver, Greene and Washington counties, each with average annual revenues between $10,000 and $200,000.

A press release on Thursday announcing the funding said, “Grantees include a studio for adult artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities, an organization celebrating traditional West African dance, a film archive and cinema preserving and exhibiting Pittsburgh’s film history, a choir affirming LGBTQIA+ voices, a space providing enrichment opportunities for emerging comedians, and more.”
“The Creative Sector Flex Fund provides crucial support for small arts and culture organizations,” Mona Wiley, program specialist at the Arts Council, said in a statement. “The flexibility also allows the grantees to use the awarded funding in ways that ensure the most significant impact for their organizations and communities.”
