PICT Ventures Into ‘2500 Years of Theatre and Fashion’

Artistic director Elizabeth Elias Huffman’s efforts to reimagine Pittsburgh International Classic Theatre and take programming to her hometown continue this weekend and next with “a theatrical fashion show extravaganza.”

What do I Wear? 2500 Years of Theatre and Fashion Gala takes place Sunday, April 7, 2024, at The Studio at Carnegie Music Hall and Library, in Carnegie, and Saturday, April 13, at the Mon Valley YMCA in Monongahela.

The fundraiser features 16 actors performing excerpts from classic plays, songs and dances from throughout the centuries, along with appetizers, a cookie table and a champagne cocktail.

Since Hufffman was hired and given the task of resurrecting the former Pittsburgh Irish & Classic Theatre/PICT Classic Theatre, the current version of PICT has produced a performance of Mike Barlett’s King Charles III, to coincide with the real-life King Charles’ coronation, and the Bards From the Burgh summer reading series in Point Breeze.
