Bricolage Productions, last seen in a Cultural District storefront theater space and windowless basement offices, has a whole lotta “new” going on, including a new home – with windows.
The company headed by Tami Dixon and Jeffrey Carpenter now has offices and a sound studio (The Noise Factory) at Community Forge in Wilkinsburg. In another move, Bricolage’s theatrical escape rooms Enter the Imaginarium, formerly located in Harmar, has moved to Shaler Plaza, 880 Butler St., and will eventually feature five escape experiences.
Tickets are on sale now for the return of Inventors Paradox, with an all-new experience, The Mind’s Eye, coming later this summer.
Staying closer to their previous Downtown digs, Bricolage will present the new storytelling series Speakeasy. From the creator of WordPlay, Speakeasy “invites some of Pittsburgh’s funniest storytellers to tell a true story while DJ Fadewell provides a real-time soundtrack. But when the story ends, we’re just getting started. It’s ‘Late Night’ for the NPR set,” says producer Alan Olifson.
Speakeasy begins September 21, 2024, and continues November 23 at Arcade Comedy Theater, 943 Liberty Ave. Downtown.
While announcing that “our education program is blooming and immersive commissions are on the rise,” the company known for immersive experiences promises upcoming collaborations and programming, including “an exciting Midnight Radio announcement” coming soon.
