‘Black Angels Over Tuskegee’ Lands at New Horizon Theater

New Horizon Theater presents Layon Gray’s Black Angels Over Tuskegee, the story of six of the first African-American aviators in the United States Army Air Forces.

Black Angels Over Tuskegee has played to enthusiastic audiences worldwide, with the blessing of original Tuskegee Airmen, who have said that “this production best showcases their experiences during World War II and the bond they formed.”

Writer-director Gray’s work focuses on how these six men, from a variety of backgrounds, formed a family and overcame Jim Crow-era injustices “with intelligence, patriotism and brotherhood as they worked towards their dreams of an inclusive and fair society.”

New Horizon Theater presents Black Angels Over Tuskegee October 19-27 at Pittsburgh Public Theater’s Helen Wayne Rauh Rehearsal Hall, the O’Reilly Theater, 621 Penn Ave., Downtown.
