Bricolage Productions’ Midnight Radio is set to burst back on the theater scene with Die Hard N’At, billed as a “Pittsburgh-ified holiday romp” that parodies the action film and presented with the company’s trademark Foley sound effects.
“Finally, we’re back,” Bricolage founder and co-artistic director Jeffrey Carpenter said in a statement. “I can’t wait to see our audience in person for the first time since 2019, for this alternative holiday classic!”
The cast comprised of Bricolage alumni and local theater stalwarts includes co-artistic director Tami Dixon, Wali Jamal, Jason McCune, Sheila McKenna and Patrick Jordan.

Die Hard N’At will be staged at Jordan’s Barebones Black Box in Braddock, while Bricolage awaits the groundbreaking of a new theater and event space at Community Forge in Wilkinsburg next year.
Adapted by Gayle Pazerski and directed by Carpenter, with music direction by Camille Rolla, Die Hard N’At is described as putting “a riotous Pittsburgh spin on the plot of 1988’s Die Hard, in which a police officer fights to save hostages from a terrorist takeover of a skyscraper on Christmas Eve.”
Midnight Radio is a Bricolage original, created in 2008 and based on old-timey radio broadcasts, reinvented as live shows presented in theater spaces. A component of the series is an education program, adapting the format for public school students to engage with a core curriculum, in-person and online.
Along with Die Hard N’Aht, Bricolage also announced the addition of the Noise Factory, “a new Foley studio for sound experimentation and collaboration, and the future home base for a new Midnight Radio Podcast series.”
