New Year’s Wishes, Resolutions and Observations from onStage Pittsburgh

Opinion by SHARON EBERSON & GEORGE HOOVER

As 2024 comes to a close, here are a few thoughts for 2025.

10: Our loyal readers are cherished, and newbies are always welcome.

9: Here’s hoping the incoming Congress continues to support arts and culture.

8: We suggest taking a child to an age-appropriate live show. (Start ’em early.)

7: Early evening showtimes are a few of our favorite things (7 p.m. is ideal).

6: We plead: Finish the construction in the heart of the Cultural District,

5: We resolve to try at least one new performing arts experience this year.

4: Inclusion, equity, and accessibility must remain front and center.

Big Wish No. 1: A solution to balancing funding and creating.

Big Wish No. 2: No cancellations due to illness.

And at No. 1: Living in a city that has a robust arts and culture scene is a privilege and a perk. Show your support, and pass it around: Pittsburgh is a theater town.

Lastly, when it is all said and done, live performance is all about artists making a lasting connection with their audience. The same goes for reviewers and readers. Follow onStage Pittsburgh, and stay connected year-round.
