Now you see her, now you don’t. And here she is, again. What a treat.
Liberty Magic, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust‘s top-notch series of prestidigitations, returns June 5, 2025 with a second helping of panache from Lucy Darling. Her latest show, Indulgence, kicks off five months of sleight-of-hand, comedy, mentalists, and even Ringistry, from five different performers.

No top hat or tails for Lucy Darling (real name, Carisa Hendrix), who favors cocktail dresses to complement her flaming red bouffant hair-do.
In the case of Lucy Darling, who last graced the cozy Liberty Magic venue in 2023, expect an evening of Mae West sass combined with humor and, of course, feats of magic.
Winner of the 2019 Allan Slaight Award and a two-time Magic Castle Stage Magician of the Year, Darling will be serving up her flamboyant illusions through June 22.
Other acts coming to Liberty Magic have all performed there previously, but expect new, magical material.
Rob Zabrecky’s ‘The Zabrecky Hour’ (July 10-August 9, 2025)
Conjuring a 1950s vibe, Rob Zabrecky wowed on Penn & Teller’s Fool Us, where Penn Jillette remarked “We were trying to think if there’s ever been a mentalist doing a mentalist act that was sincerely funny and sincerely good. You may be the first ever.”
Lee Terbosic’s ‘In Plain Sight’ (July 10-August 9, 2025)
Pittsburgh native Lee Terbosic returns with his In Plain Sleight. He does it all — illusions, mind-reading, small magic, straight-jacket escapes … A Houdini scholar, in 2016 Terbosic re-created the master magician’s 1916 escape while hanging upside down on Liberty Avenue, just a block from the Liberty Magic venue.
Terbosic can be seen as a regular on History Channel shows such as Houdini’s Last Secrets, as well as America’s Got Talent
Michael Misko’s ‘I Laugh in the Face of Magic’ (Opens August 15-16, 2025)
Michael Misko is a Pittsburgher on the move. Cruise ships, corporate events, theater stages, he’s ready to perform. His website notes that all he needs is “an audience ready to laugh and a spot where I can blame bad lighting for any trick gone wrong. His I Laugh in the Face of Magic show skips across multiple dates: August 15-16; October 3 and October 24-25, and November 1, 2025.
Mr. Messado’s ‘Ringistry’ (Opens September 19-20, 26-27, 2025)
Mr. Messado’s Ringistry involves, of course, rings, and much more. Linking rings is especially mind-blowing when viewed close-up, and the Liberty Magic theater, which seats less than 70 spectators, is ideal. The program runs September 19-20, 26-27, and October 10-11 and October 17-18, 2025.
In the spring, April 6-June 22, 2025, patrons can attend Mr. Messado’s School of Magic every other week, and “learn magic from a master.”
“You will absolutely see something you’ve never seen before at Liberty Magic,” said Brooke Horejsi, chief programming and engagement officer for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “Even if you’ve been to Liberty Magic before, you’ll still see something new; returning favorites like Lucy Darling and Lee Terbosic always keep their shows fresh and unpredictable.”
