Audiences are invited to play the set, The Giant Squonk Accordion, on June 7 in Millvale and June 14 in Penn Hills.

Brouhaha is an immersive outdoor spectacle bursting with rollicking music, dazzling imagery, and audience participation. At the center of this riotous romp is the Squonkcordion, an enormous musical instrument powered by behemoth bellows topped with towering tuba bells. At the peak of the performance, Squonk invites the audience to play this foghorn organ, welcoming them to experience the joy of a brass band and the fireworks of community.

Led by Co-Artistic Directors Jackie Dempsey and Steve O’Hearn, Squonk is a group of Pittsburgh-based musicians and artists. Squonk’s productions have taken the group to Off-Broadway, Broadway, Europe, Asia, and the United States. Squonk’s last shows were at Lincoln Center and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Squonk will perform at 3 p.m. on June 7 as part of the Millvale Bicycle Rally at Rainbow Park in Millvale, PA). More info at https://www.millvalelibrary.org

Squonk will perform at 1 p.m. on June 14 as part of the Summer Reading Kick-Off Event at the Penn Hills Library. More info at: https://pennhillslibrary.org
