Broadway at the Overlook

Pittsburgh Musical Theater brings back its beloved late-summer tradition with Broadway at the Overlook. This free, family-friendly concert previews PMT’s 2025–26 season — Annie, Dear Evan Hansen, Disney’s Newsies, Evil Dead The Musical, Beetlejuice JR., and A Lyrical Christmas Carol. Enjoy an evening of Broadway favorites performed by local professionals and PMT Conservatory students, all set against the stunning Pittsburgh skyline. August 28–31 at the West End Overlook Park. August 28th to 31st.


Songs from the Steps – Miscast

Back by popular demand! Stage 62’s pandemic-era favorite returns, lighting up the Andrew Carnegie Free Library steps once again. This year’s theme: Miscast! — Broadway hits performed in the most unexpected, hilarious, and heartfelt ways imaginable.

As the sun sets, the library parking lot transforms into a twinkling open-air stage for a night of laughter, music, and community Warm lights, cool drinks, and a cast singing their hearts out — the perfect summer send-off! One night only, September 6th.


Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Master Class Series

Starting September 9, 2025, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre launches a new season of its popular Master Class Series, open to the entire community.

  • Led by PBT artists and artistic staff
  • Each class ends with a Q&A session with the teaching artist
  • Held monthly at PBT Studios at 6:15 p.m.

Pricing: $35 per class | $300 for the full nine-class series

Forge Us Teeth of Metal: Ukraine’s Stories…Revisited

RealTime Arts presents an unforgettable evening of Ukrainian folktales, music, food, and community conversation. September 4th | 7–9:30 p.m. Carnegie Coffee Company (Carnegie, PA)

  • Live performances of Ukrainian folk stories by award-winning Pittsburgh actors: Julianne Avolio, Cynthia Dallas, Hazel Leroy, Joe McGranahan, and Cotter Smith
  • Music by the Frazé-Frazénkos from Lviv
  • Video interviews introducing Ukrainian and U.S. veteran participants

Also opening this week, Little Lake Theatre‘s production of Murder on the Orient Express. When a snowstorm halts the legendary train in its tracks, the luxurious journey quickly turns into a chilling murder investigation. Renowned detective Hercule Poirot must sift through a web of secrets and lies to uncover the killer hidden among the passengers. Opens August 28th.
