Pittsburgh CLO Has Its Cast for 50th Anniversary ‘Rocky Horror’

Alexander E. Podolinski, a standout as Mordred in Pittsburgh CLO’s summer production of Camelot, will transform into that “Sweet Transvestite, from Transexual, Transylvania,” Dr. Frank-N-Furter, for Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Greer Cabaret Theater.

Will he be wearing fishnet stockings and tasteful pearls? Will he inspire a young couple to abandon all inhibitions?

Are you shivering with antici … pation?

The PCLO production marks the 50th anniversary of the show’s short reign on Broadway and the opening of the movie that eventually entered the history books as a cult classic. Celebrations this year have included an original cast member tour and a reissued deluxe edition of the soundtrack marking the big 5-0, which is said to make Rocky Horror the longest-running theatrical release in history.

If you’ve attended a midnight showing wearing a raincoat, while armed with toast, you know the lustful, often bonkers sci-fi tale and rock ’n’ roll score that has had millions lamenting, “Meatloaf again,” while inspiring floor shows with audience members cosplaying as favorite characters.

“For 50 years, Rocky Horror has welcomed audiences into a joyful community of celebration and togetherness,” said Mark Fleischer, Pittsburgh CLO’s executive producer and director of the production. “Whether you’ve loved this show for decades or are seeing it for the first time, we invite you to join in on the fun. And as Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter sings, ‘don’t dream it, be it,’ we want everyone that attends to be part of something unforgettable.”

The stage show at the Greer, October 14 – November 8, 2025, is part of the Kara Cabaret Series, and features many old friends and new to Pittsburgh stages.

Brad and Janet (Vice!), the couple whose car trouble turns into something much more ominous, will be played by Spencer Millay, a recent St. Vincent College graduate, in his PCLO debut, and Kat Harkins, a Pittsburgh native, Point Park grad and veteran of several shows for the company.

Michael Greer will flex his muscles as Rocky Horror, joined by Narrator Dixie Sherwood, Connor McCanlus as Riff Raff, Laura Frye as Magenta and, as Columbia, Sam Carter, a recent graduate of Slippery Rock University.

As (“Hot Patootie, Bless My Soul”) Eddie, Matthew Hudzik continues his run with Pittsburgh CLO, following his portrayal of Kristoff in the three-state co-production of Frozen

In addition to the performances, themed events include a Drag Brunch (Sunday, November 2 at noon; showtime is 1 p.m.); a pre-show Trivia Night (Wednesday, October 22, at 6:30 p.m.; show starts at 7:30); College Nights (Fridays at 7:30 p.m., except October 31); and late-night Costume Contests (Saturdays and Friday, October 31, at 10 p.m.
