Prime Stage’s Head(stone) Start to Spooky Season
The annual invasion of Spirit Halloween shops isn’t the only sign that the spooky season is centerstage. Theaters are gearing up for Halloween 2025 as well, including the third annual Prime Stage Theatre Cemetery Walk – tagline: “Be inspired by these Historical Pittsburgh Legends as we bring their history to life.” One-hour tours at the Homewood Cemetery, 1599 South Dallas Avenue, begin at noon on September 27, 2025, and feature Johnny Patalano as Henry Milo Curry, Cindy West as Eleanor Bradley Flinn, John Locke as Robert Pitcairn, Frank E. Baker as Edward Manning Bigelow, Sarah Campbell as Ida May Burleigh, Erica Fox Zabusk as Irene May Peacock, and Suzanne Ward as Margaret Davis. Tickets are $20 plus service fee, rain or shine, at https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/prime-stage-theatre-3rd-annual-cemetary-walk-4480213.
Keeping with the theme, Prime Stage presents An Evening of Poe Pourri, a fundraiser that offers “a chilling, immersive evening of theatrical tales and haunting verse from the master of the macabre,” Edgar Allan Poe. Patrons may indulge in “hors d’oeuvres, spirited libations, a silent auction cloaked in mystery, and the ever-present thrill of a surprise …,” with proceeds supporting the upcoming season of world premieres. On October 18 2026, at Whitehall House, 4201 Brownsville Road; doors open at 6 p.m., “shenanigans begin at 6:30.” For 21+ only. https://primestage.com/events/an-evening-of-poe-pourri/.
