‘HELL’S KITCHEN’ TOUR COMES TO PITTSBURGH

The North American Tour of Hell’s Kitchen, Alicia Keys’ autobiographical stage musical that was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, stops at the Benedum Center November 4-19. 

Featuring songs from Keys’ award-winning catalog, Hell’s Kitchen tells the story of 17-year-old Ali (Maya Drake), “a girl full of fire, searching for freedom, passion, and her place in the world,” along with her musical mentor, her family, and the neighborhood that helps her grow. 

Hell’s Kitchen is directed by five-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Dear Evan Hansen and The Notebook) and features choreography by five-time Tony Award nominee Camille A. Brown, a book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Kristoffer Diaz and the music of Keys.

PITTSBURGH CLO EXTENDS ‘THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW’

Pittsburgh CLO is adding more chances to do the time warp again, adding two performances of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show, at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, and an added pre-show drag brunch on Sunday, November 9. Pre-show drag brunches at the Greer Cabaret are hosted by the show’s Narrator, Dixie Surewood, with special guest Chi Chi de Vivre, and include drag performances, trivia, giveaways, and more. MIDNIGHT RADIO RETURNS WITH ‘CHRISTMAS VACATYINZ’

Bricolage Productions will unwrap its latest take on a holiday classic – Midnight Radio: Lampoon’s Christmas Vacatyinz – for 15 performances at barebones’ Braddock home, December 4-21, 2025. Last year, Bricolage brushed aside the debate over Die Hard as a Christmas movie, and gave that film the unique Midnight Radio treatment. In 2025, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is set for “holiday cheer meets black-and-gold chaos,” with “live sound effects, original music, and a healthy dose of yinzer spirit.” Adapted by Tami Dixon and directed by Jeffrey Carpenter, Christmas Vacatyinz will feature Patrick Jordan, Jason McCune, Dave Mansueto and Jaime Slavinsky at barebones black box in Braddock, 1211 Braddock Ave., Braddock. CITY THEATRE: PLAYWRIGHT GUNDERSON VISITS SOUTH SIDE, ‘LITTLE WOMEN’ CAST SET

City Theatre and the CMU Center for New Work Development have teamed for an in-person afternoon in conversation with Lauren Gunderson, who in recent years holds the disctinction as America’s most-produced contemporary playwright. The South Side companyhas added to that title with productions of The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley, preceded by the prior season’s production of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, and 2018’s The Revolutionists.

Gunderson will be at City’s Lillie Theatre on November 8, 2025, in anticipation of the rolling world premiere presentation of her play, Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women, November 15 – December 7, 2025. Directed by Kaja Dunn, the cast features Annalisa D’Aguilar as Meg, Zanny Laird as Lou/Jo, Alex Manalo as Beth, Nancy McNulty as Marmee/Aunt March, Nell Murphy as Amy, Brendan Peifer as Laurie, and Juan Rivera Lebron in multiple roles.

Gunderson is in Pittsburgh as a distinguished playwright-in-residence at the CMU Center for New Work Development.
