Pittsburgh CLO Has Its Christmas 2025 Scrooge: Tony-Winner Denis O’Hare

Denis O’Hare follows in the miser-to-wiser footsteps of high-profile predecessors as the Ebenezer Scrooge of Pittsburgh CLO’s A Musical Christmas Carol, which returns to the Byham Theater December 13-23, 2025.

PCLO introduced the star of its 33rd annual holiday classic on social media. The actor won Tony, Obie and Drama Desk Awards as featured actor in Take Me Out, and was Tony-nominated for Assassins. A star of the HBO hit True Blood, his Emmy Award nominations are for two American Horror Story series and a guest-starring role on This Is Us.

Among the previous marquee actors to play Scrooge for PCLO are Patrick Page, Michael Cerveris, Richard Thomas, Charles Shaughnessy and Tom Atkins.

The versatile O’Hare first visited Pittsburgh as a featured guest of Steel City Con in 2019, the same year he starred in the title role Molière’s Tartuffe at the National Theatre in London.
