
Pittsburgh International Classic Theatre’s 2026 Bards From the Burgh will feature four new pay-what-you-can staged readings of works by local playwrights.
Each year, PICT aims to select one play from the series to develop for production. The first production from the series was Andy Warhol’s Tomato, by McKeesport-born playwright Vince Melocchi, which launched Elizabeth Elias Huffman’s first season as PICT artistic director.
Showtimes for the fourth annual reading series are 7:30 p.m. at Carnegie Stage, 25 W. Main Street, Carnegie:
- May 19: Misbegotten by Maureen McGranaghan, directed by Dominique Dobson Briggs
- May 21: All Our Yesterdays by John Dolphin, directed by Ken Bolden
- May 23: Thank You Ten! Written and directed by Chris Clavelli
- May 24: Tomb of My Ancestors by Anthony McKay, directed by Cary Anne Spear
Preceding Bards From the Burgh, PICT’s two staged readings of A Winter’s Tale Fundraiser, also at Carnegie Stage, with Milia Ayachi, Doren Elias, Darren Elicker, Matt Henderson, Evelyn Hernandez, Kaitlin Kerr, Helen Putnak-Kish, Randy Kovitz, Sam Lander, and Johnny Patalano. The readings are accompanied by food, with each starting at 2 p.m.:
- May 16: Reading plus an Italian dinner buffet and wine ($69, including fees)
- May 17: Reading plus Italian desserts, fruit and cheese ($27, including fees)
