Pitt Stages, the production arm of the University of Pittsburgh Department of Theatre Arts, has unveiled its 2026–2027 season, themed Perseverance. This season’s lineup blends mainstage plays, a musical, and student-driven one-acts, highlighting stories of resilience through a mix of classical works, contemporary pieces, and multicultural perspectives.

The fall season opens with Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’s Gloria (October 16–25), directed by Ricardo Vila-Roger. The musical Hundred Days by The Bengsons and Sarah Gancher follows (November 13–20), directed by Cynthia Croot. Two student-directed one-acts—Ethan Coen’s Waiting and Anton Chekhov’s The Proposal—run October 2–4.

In the spring, Pitt Stages presents The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka (February 19–28), directed by Keelie Sheridan, alongside the world premiere Pittsburgh-Machine (February 26–28) by Guilherme Meletti Yazbek. The season concludes with Jonathan Larson’s Rent (April 9–18), directed by Kelly Trumbull with music direction by Becki Toth.

Auditions for the season are scheduled for August 26–27, 2026.
