Pittsburgh Musical Theater has announced its 2026-2027 season, with performances at the Gargaro Theater, Byham Theater, and West End Canopy.
“This season is an invitation, not just to see a show, but to experience the extraordinary power of live theater to bring people together,” said Colleen Doyno, Executive Director of PMT.
PMT’s season includes works with academy students and introduces Broadway Seniors, an edition of Into the Woods with a cast of adults 50+.

“Every production has been carefully chosen to inspire laughter, ignite imagination, celebrate tradition, and tell stories that stay with us long after the final curtain call,” Doyno said. From the excitement of Evil Dead The Musical and the wonder of Matilda, to the adventure and heart of How to Train Your Dragon JR., the timeless beauty of A Lyrical Christmas Carol, the epic passion of Miss Saigon, the joy of our new program with the Broadway Senior show Into the Woods SR., and the unforgettable music of Million Dollar Quartet, there is truly something for everyone.”

In collaboration with the CAPA Orchestra. The Tony Award-winning musical brings to life the inspiring story of an extraordinary girl who dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Featuring favorite theater songs, “Naughty,” “When I Grow Up,” and “Revolting Children. Presented in Partnership with The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. - A Lyrical Christmas Carol, December 16-20, 2026, Gargaro Theater
PMT’s original adaptation returns to warm hearts this holiday season. A cherished Pittsburgh tradition, it offers a unique musical take on Dickens’ classic story of redemption and compassion. - How to Train Your Dragon JR., February 11-14, 2027, Gargaro Theater
The musical adaptation based on the DreamWorks Animation hit that brings a touching tale of friendship, unlikely heroes, and fire-breathing action to the stage. Presented by the Young Artists of PMT Conservatory. - Miss Saigon, March 4-14, 2027, Byham Theater
A musical epic with a score featuring “The Heat Is On in Saigon,” “The Movie in My Mind,” “Last Night of the World,” and “I’d Give My Life for You.” The powerful story of love, sacrifice, and survival, by the creators of Les Miserables, was inspired by Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, set during the Vietnam War in 1970s Saigon, - Into the Woods SR., April 1-4, 2027, Gargaro Theater
PMT introduces “a new community full of excitement and opportunity with Broadway Senior shows. This program puts adults 50+ center stage and empowers them to be creators, artists, and storytellers.” The program includes 3 weeks of classes and rehearsals, ending with a fully produced production. - Million Dollar Quartet, April 29 – May 23, 2027, Gargaro Theater
Back by popular demand, an exhilarating rock musical about the infamous night when four legends — Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley — came together and made music history. Featuring hits “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “I Walk the Line,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Hound Dog,” and more.
