Little Lake Theater held a Halloween party on Friday, where the big treat was the announcement of the 2027 titles coming to two theaters: Little Lake’s lakeside home since 1949, and the new Canon Theatre in Downtown Canonsburg.
(Story updated with dates and venues added.)

Along with well-known dramas, a Jane Austen classic and popular musicals is Swept Away, which had a brief Broadway run in 2024. The one-act show about a 19th-century whaling ship disaster features the music of The Avett Brothers, with a book by John Logan. Another perhaps lesser-known title is Ken Ludwig’s Lady Molly of Scotland Yard, following on the heels of Ms. Holmes and Ms. Watson this year.
And then there’s the enticing title I’m Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire, a 2024 farce by Samantha Hurley. The premise: To cope with neglect at home and ridicule at school, 8th-grader Shelby spends her time and energy with a singular focus: the star of Spider-Man in the early 2000s. “A Y2K farce, I’m Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire is a full-throttle explosion of our parasocial relationships and the obsessions that detonate them.”
This year’s Little Lake holiday musical at the Canon Theatre is White Christmas (December 6-20, 2026), will be followed next year by Holiday Inn.
