True West is an American classic that explores alternatives that might spring from the demented terrain of the California landscape. Sons of a desert-dwelling alcoholic and a suburban wanderer clash over a film script. Austin, the achiever (played by Point Park graduate Evan Wormald), is working on a script he has sold to producer Saul Kimmer (Jim Froehlich) when Lee (Zach Reed), a demented petty thief, drops in. He pitches his idea for a movie to Kimmer, who wants Austin to junk his bleak, modern love story and write Lee’s trashy Western tale.
Also in the cast is Kathy Ciesielski as Mom. The creative team for Riverfront Theater Company’s production of True West includes: Sara Blike, in her first full season as President of Riverfront Theater Company (Director), Alex Hagerty (Stage Manager), and Surya Ravindran (Assistant Director).
River Front Theatre Company’s production of True West has performances at the Allegheny RiverTrail Park (285 River Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15215), with performances on March 16–18 and 23–25, 2023.
