Winners Announced for 29th Shakespeare Contest at Pittsburgh Public Theater

The 29th annual Shakespeare Monologue and Scene Contest at Pittsburgh Public Theater reached the Showcase of Finalists on Monday, with the winners announced today.

More than 600 students from more than 60 schools participated this year, with top honors going to:

Ruah Scandrett as Ariel and Eva Ruth Scandrett as Prospero perform a scene from The Tempest 
  • Wyatt Bernardini and Adjoa Opoku-Dakwa from Pittsburgh CAPA (lower division scene.
  • Eva Ruth Scandrett and Ruah Scandrett from Trinity Christian School (upper division scene).
  • Kaaveri Patil from Boyce Middle School and Leo Williams from Blackburn Study Center (tie for lower division monologue).
  • Madelyn Buffone from Indiana Players (upper division monologue).
