The Iron Horse Theatre Company in Ambridge has announced its 2024 season, comprising three plays and a musical sing-along that includes a series of three-holiday one-act plays.

The season opens in June with the world premiere play, The Golden Rose, written by London Cain. The Golden Rose is an intriguing story about a 19th-century religious group called the Harmonists. The Harmonists tried to create a utopian society in the nearby Old Economy area. This suspenseful, true story will educate, surprise, shock, and entertain you. Performances are June 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, and 30.
In August, the company will present Painting Churches. , written by Tina Howe. Painting Churches, about the relationship between a female artist and her aging parents, was a Pulitzer Prize for Drama finalist. Performances are August 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 23, and 24.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, written by Simon Stephens, opens in October. This award-winning play is based on the Mark Haddon novel of the same name. The story is about a 15-year-old mathematical genius with an autism spectrum disorder who tries to solve the mystery surrounding the death of his neighbor’s poodle. The show dates are October 11, 12, 18, 19, 20, 25, and 26, 2024.
In December, the season finishes with A Holiday Celebration, a musical sing-along, and a series of three holiday-themed one-act plays: The Gift of the Magi by Thomas Hischak, The First Night of Chanukah by Sheri Wilner, and Starman Wish Me Luck by Nicole J. Burton. December 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 20, and 21.
