38600865_10156718914889873_1360078553365872640_oFirst up, Bricolage Production Company presents Bazaar: A Micro Immersive Carnival on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm at Pennsylvania Pure Distilleries, 1101 William Flynn Hwy, Old Glenshaw Glass Factory, Glenshaw, PA.

Admission to this 18+ carnival-inspired event will get you carnival tickets, access to micro immersive experiences, complimentary valet parking, free Midway Party food, and access to the silent auction and games.

Carnival tickets can be redeemed for drinks, raffles, exclusive experiences, prizes, games, and more. Additional tickets can be directly purchased on-site or may be won by playing games of chance at Midway Party.

The micro immersives are the heart of Bazaar because they represent the core of Bricolage’s artistic vision, that of audience engagement. Whether it’s their Midnight Radio performances, which break the fourth wall to interact with their audiences, or Word Play, which invites the audience onstage to be the performance or one of their immersive experiences like Enter the Imaginarium or The Clearing, Bricolage has prioritized audience inclusion in all their work.

Principal creative and company co-founder Tami Dixon elaborates, “Immersives engage on a deeply personal, physical level, blurring the line between artist and audience. We are reflecting our current climate when the world is at the tip of your fingers. We recognize and celebrate the audience’s desire to be completely engaged and to not just passively observe.” Bricolage encourages their patrons to take a chance and embrace this way of creating theater. The micro immersive experiences offered as part of Bazaar have been designed to “welcome audience members who haven’t taken the plunge because they might perceive immersives as scary. A carnival atmosphere is a delightful way to introduce the work, so they might fall in love with it too.”

There will be eleven storage pods on site, each containing a micro immersive experience. Immersive creators include: Deryck Tines, Ayne Terceia; Spectacle Create & Capture’s Joshua Challen Ice, Harbour Edney, and Greg King; Softest Jupiter Escape’s Julian Goldman; slowdanger’s Anna Thompson and Taylor Knight; Michael Skirpan, Patrick Cooper, and Arvid Tomayko; Maggie Oates; folkLAB; Enter the Imaginarium; Jeremy Colbert; and David Bangley.

And that’s not all. Costumed characters will roam the grounds, interacting with guests, and patrons are encouraged to come in carnival-themed costumes themselves. In fact, Bricolage has created a Look Book to help inspire patrons in their costuming choices, thanks to the hard work of company costume designer Madison Hack. Tami Dixon reminds all patrons to be mindful of their costume choices and focus on skills like a carnie running a ride, an acrobat, a strong man. Please avoid any costumes that make fun of, appropriate the life experiences of or exploit any group or physical condition.

Most importantly, have fun. “This is a celebration of Bricolage and our community…Come and have fun, play games, step into unique and bizarre micro worlds and, most importantly, say ‘yes,’” encourages Ms. Dixon. (You’ll most likely find Ms. Dixon at the Midway Party playing games or serving as the dunkee for the dunk tank. She encourages you to challenge her to a game of ring toss.)

Available ticket prices run from $125 for the Big Top experience to $225 for the Grandstand experience (all $350 Center Ring and $50 flash sale tickets have been sold out). Tickets are available online up to and including the day of the event, and tickets will be sold at the event as well.
